Cape Town City Ballet
Cape Town City Ballet is South Africa's oldest ballet company and one of the oldest in the world. Started in 1934 as the University of Cape Town Ballet Company, it became CAPAB Ballet Company in 1964 and for the last 10 years has been a Section 21 company incorporated not for profit or gain, known as the Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB). Cape Town City Ballet is a fully professional, world class ballet company with an international reputation. Features that stamp the company as uniquely South African are the dancers' inimitable energy and style, and the diversity of works in the repertoire. Cape Town City Ballet actively searches for and creates training and performance opportunities for young dancers from previously disadvantaged communities.
Dance for All
Dance for All's Mission is to provide children in historically disadvantaged communities with the opportunity for enjoyment, promotion of self esteem and empowerment through the medium of dance, as well as training professional dancers and developing a unique, indigenous dance company.
